The SACY [School Age Children and Youth] program is a joint initiative of the Vancouver School Board and Vancouver Coastal Health in collaboration with the City of Vancouver, the Vancouver Police Department, the University of British Columbia, and the Centre for Addictions Research of BC to tackle issues of substance abuse and teens.  SACY staff work in the school to connect with parents and caregivers in order to increase parent engagement and involvement in the school community.  They also provide support to foster strong relationships between parents and their teens, utilizing a strengths-based model that emphasizes positives.
